So the sure-fire picks aren't good, and I have no handicapping skills. But hey, 8-8 over the last two weeks ... that's brilliantly mediocre.

So the sure-fire picks arent very good, and I have no handicapping skills. But hey, 8-8 over the last two weeks is brilliantly mediocre the way this thing's been going.

Back-to-back 4-4 weeks is like hitting the lottery when it comes to the sure-fire picks. The season record is 32-55 and is in desparate need of a home-run week. Will this be the one? Unlikely.

Buffalo (-3.5) at Kansas City, 1 p.m. Sunday
Herm has the Chiefs knocking on the door and what better time to break it down than against the reeling Bills. If anything, this one comes down to the wire. Chiefs +3.5

Tampa Bay (-9) at Detroit, 1 p.m. Sunday
The Lions are improving and the Bucs have struggled on the road. Although the Bucs will push the winless Lions closer to trumping their 0-14 season that lives in infamy, the Lions will keep this one within a touchdown. Lions +9.

Minnesota at Jacksonville (-2.5), 1 p.m. Sunday
A battle of two coaches that could be looking for jobs this Spring should prove interesting. The Jaguars played the Titans tough … for two quarters. I think they’ll pull off a home win. Jags -2.5.

New England at Miami (-1), 1 p.m. Sunday
Though all evidence proves otherwise, I just can’t believe the Dolphins are going to sweep the Patriots. Hoodie and company find a way. Patriots +1.

Chicago(-8.5) at St. Louis, 1 p.m. Sunday
The Bears are fighting for their playoff lives and the Rams are apparently playing for their coach. St. Louis has been atrocious the past two weeks and should play tough here. Rams +8.5.

Oakland at Denver (-9.5), 4:05 p.m. Sunday
If Mike Shanahan gets this injury ravaged team to the playoffs, he deserves coach of the year consideration. The Broncos will get one step closer to the postseason, but it won’t be pretty. Raiders +9.5.

N.Y. Giants (-3) at Arizona, 4:15 p.m. Sunday
Give Kurt Warner time and he’ll eat you alive. The Giants will get after Warner and throw a wrench in the Cardinals’ offensive machine. Giants -3.

Washington (-3) at Seattle, 4:15 p.m. Sunday
Clinging to their playoff lives, the Redskins will find answers against the shockingly bad Seahawks. They will win this one with ease. Redskins -3.
